Our Story

Keys of Kindness was created from a simple belief: that a child’s music has the power to bring comfort, hope and connection to people who need it most.

In the summer of 2023, our students performed at Trilogy Redmond Ridge, sharing piano music with a senior community. Before there was a name, before there was a formal organization, there was already a purpose. Watching residents listen, smile, and engage reminded us that music is more than performance - it is presence

With Gratitude

Senior community performance at Trilogy Redmond Ridge (Summer 2023). Experiences like this inspired the creation of Keys of Kindness.

That afternoon planted a seed. We saw how young pianists could bridge generations, spark memories, and bring light into shared spaces. What began as a single outreach performance grew into a larger vision.

Keys of Kindness was created to intentionally connect young musicians with senior communities, hospitals, and others who benefit from live music. Our goal is simple: to create meaningful moments through music and remind people that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

We are just at the beginning of this journey - and every performance continues to shape the story.

This initiative is rooted in the influence of our teacher, Dr. Yelena Balabanova, whose guidance went beyond technique. Her teaching helped shape the belief that music can be an act of care and kindness.

We extend our special thanks to her, whose mentorship helped instill the values that continue to guide Keys of Kindness.
